Oh me, oh my, oh you, whatever shall we do?
Had to get that out of the way...I have a magnolia tree, one that's mine, and mine alone. It's only a little sprout now, with a few blossoms here and there, and something only vaguely recognizable as a trunk. Perfectly weak, and helpless, and dependant upon me. I like the responsibility, because when the little buds do bloom, when the weather gets warmer, they will be so beautiful, and mine to cherish, alone.
The problem is, when the tree grows, I won't be able to keep it for myself anymore, nor will I care for it alone. I'll have to share it, with my friends, family, children and grandchildren, someday.
For now, however, it is mine, to watch grow and flourish, in the spring sun.

I miss my beau, as well.
